Highest Scores

This page lists the highest-scoring songs performed at Song Contest since 1990, when the current scoring system was adopted. Under the current system, a perfect score is 204 points.

The scoring system has changed several times over the decades. Perfect scores under previous scoring systems include:

  • 204 points (1990–present)
  • 128 points (1982–1989)
  • 500 points (1969–1981)
  • 100 points (1964–1968)

Since 1990

The list below includes all songs that scored at least 190 points since 1990, when the current 204-point scoring system took effect. Most of these songs won their category (i.e. men, women, or co-ed), but some were outscored by another song in the same year. A trophy icon () indicates a category win.

Please note that our database is missing scores for a few freshman coed songs from the 1990s.

Because the judges change every year, it doesn't make sense to compare scores from different years. Instead, think of this list as a showcase of some of the best performances from the past 34 years.
